Easter Health Tips
Don’t do the Bunny Hop around Easter chocolate this year. Save that for the dance floor!
The Easter Bunny loves to leave little treats for the kids, some in the form of chocolate. For anybody watching what they’re eating, this can be a huge temptation. Instead of trying to fight the bunny we can do a few things.
Participate
If chocolate is something that gets brought into the house at this time of year, we can easily plan to participate in having a few chocolate eggs and counting them into our day. For example, 10 mini eggs count as 1C and 1F. You can count out the 10 eggs in the morning and enjoy them all day.
Avoid
If 10 mini eggs just isn’t going to be enough and you’ll end up eating the Costco size bag, maybe it’s just best not to have them in the house. Instead of buying chocolate, buy something that you won’t steal from your kids Easter basket. This will help you avoid the temptation AND you won’t have the kids crying because you’re eating the prizes from their Easter egg hunt. It’s a win/win for the family.
Control
Try to get the chocolate out of sight and out of mind as soon as possible. Have the kids put the chocolate in their room, or even the freezer so it’s not top of mind. OR have them pick out the amount of chocolate they will eat without getting a tummy ache and donate the rest to the Food Bank or other non profit that accepts that as a donation.
