View Jessica’s Bio
I am a Registered Massage Therapist. I have been practicing since graduating in Saskatchewan from the Professional Institute of Massage Therapy in 2008. Although my training was quite traditional, my style and approach is not as common. There’s been a belief going around for quite some time now and that mind and body are two separate things. I do not prescribe to this belief. In fact, quite the opposite. They go hand in hand to create whole body well being. I love being able to share my knowledge of anatomy and the body’s systems with my clients. I believe that reconnecting the two by having the mental awareness of where your imbalances are and what might be causing it is crucial when trying to repair and rebalance the physical body. My techniques are very slow, which allows people to connect their breath with the work being done and the movement of the muscles. The way you breathe affects your whole body-your posture, the way you move, the ease at which your blood flows and the rate your muscles respond to treatment. Our bodies are finely balanced. They require that mind body connect to remain that way. This approach has allowed me to help others not only when on my table but by providing stretches, self care and a reminder of what our bodies are capable of when we have that connect!
