BARB’S BLOG
Lest We Forget
My blog this month is about remembering, observing and commemorating. On November 11 we get a chance to commemorate and pay thanks to over 100,000 Canadian citizens that lost their lives in World War 1 and 2. We get a chance to stop and be mindful of all the other Canadian citizens that gave up, and continue to give so much for most of the freedoms and rights we have today.
I bust at the seams to be a Canadian, I am proud when I travel in Europe and they discover I am from Canada and embrace me. I am so fortunate not only to live in the best country in the world but to call Fort McMurray my home. Not all provinces mark November 11 as a statutory holiday but I am glad Alberta does. On that note, Layers Wellness will be closed on November 11 and I hope to see the Layers team, our guests and family out showing our support and giving thanks to all the brave Canadians that make us so proud. Wear a poppy, give a minute of silence and say thanks.
Warm regards,
Barb Henning

We will resume regular store hours the next day.

MICROBLADING IS HERE TO STAY
…at least semi-permanently.

Warm up to beautiful, full, and natural-looking eyebrows with the rave review process of Microblading. After much anticipation, it’s FINALLY here! Emma and Jen have officially been trained in microblading and permanent makeup and are now accepting bookings!
To celebrate we’ve decided to offer an Introductory Offer on microblading. For just $350 you can give this eyebrow enhancing treatment a try!
But hurry, because we’re only offering this special deal throughout the month of November.
Microblading
What the heck is it?
Microblading is ideal for anyone wanting to enhance the look of their eyebrows. The results are natural, hair-like strokes, regardless of the amount of hair present. People suffering from alopecia, trigonometrical or any other condition that causes hair loss benefit greatly from Microblading, as well as people who simply aren’t happy with their sparse eyebrows.

Microblading is a manual method used to deposit small stroke amounts of ink in the superficial layer of the skin to look like real hair. It is considered to be a semi-permanent tattoo. The pigments used in this method have been formulated to match your original eyebrow colour, and if the eyebrows are still present, blend perfectly into them. We can also do a darker, more appropriate colour, that would be complimentary with your skin tone and hair if you lean more towards the blonde side of things. The results are a natural, flawless, fuller-looking brow.
The results can last anywhere from 11 to 18 months, depending on different factors affecting the procedure. However, a touch up once a year is recommended to retain the shape and saturation of pigment.
